The Health Social Care & Well Being Overview & Scrutiny Board met this morning to discuss ideas for its work plan for the coming year. To help the councillors pick topics for the work plan they had a presentation from Deboarh Driffield, Head of Adult Services.
The Board has two pieces of work outstanding from last year and the councillors agreed to complete these by August.
As for the new areas of work, the councillors agreed that the sustainability of adult services & providing personalised services against a backdrop of reduced budgets & greater demand for services should be an essential part of their work plan. The councillors also agreed that substance misuse and how organisations work together to combat it should be investigated as well as a brief piece of work on the Social Inclusion Unit. Plenty to get their collective teeth into!
